We found this gem on our last night in Lisbon and it was PERFECT. The owner, Andre, is so kind and made our evening lovely. We dove into the food so quickly that we forgot to get pictures, but you can see my husband, literally licking butter and jam from the scones out of the bowl. It was that good. The teas are delicious! We got the Mint Fennel (so unique), scones, the caramel cheesecake, and hot chocolate. All were delicious and so reasonably priced. We don’t drink alcohol and there were so many options for us! Highly recommend this for a date night.

We had a warm welcome at Midnight Expresso and really enjoyed our visit. We ordered the Bali Tisane, a homemade scone (which takes 15 minutes to be ready), and the chocolate shortbread—everything was really good! The space is small, so I recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. The owners are super friendly, and we noticed that some customers were regulars, which is always a great sign. The ambience is intimate and feels so cosy in the evening with the candles and low lighting.

Wonderful but tiny cafe (seats less than 20ppl). Homemade pastries by the owner-operators. Great Espresso Martinis and freshly baked scones. We also had the apple tart and it was delicious. We definitely recommend, but you may have to wait for a table, so plan for that.

The most special and cozy place with friendly and lovely staff. Their selection of teas is wonderful, they have something for every taste! Highly recommend the high tea experience with the most delicious pastries and their freshly baked warm scones. If you’re not a tea person, they have amazing cocktails! We had the new Cocktail Flight with their best 4 cocktails and it was just divine. Also, their pairing desserts are so unique, you need to try the lime cheesecake. Extra points for the playlist which matches the mood perfectly!

LOVE The Midnight Espresso SO much! Definitely a favorite spot in Lisbon—loved it so much that we went two nights in a row. The owners are so kind and hospitable, and the drinks and desserts are delicious. We ordered the Espresso Martini, Love Bird, and Midnight Stinger, all of which were amazing. A few good gluten free options for desserts as well! Reservations definitely recommended as it is only a few tables, making for a beautifully cozy and warm atmosphere.

Delectable is the right word. SO glad I found this gem on the Internet! The espresso martini was perfection. Quality ingredients (especially the espresso!), not super sweet, but just right. I watched the bartender make the drink and it was such an attention to detail to make sure the drink was just right. The apple tart was my favorite and something I’ll talk about forever. Not to mention the service was so welcoming and the music was such a vibe. I’ll be back and I will be ordering my mom’s dessert to go!

The Midnight Espresso is not just a cafe — it’s a journey. Feels like stepping onto a stylish night train: intimate lights, perfect music and a space full of detail and soul. Tânia and André built something rare - delicious desserts & cocktails with personality, a vibe that’s effortless, and an atmosphere that could belong in Berlin or Shanghai. But it’s here, in Lisbon. And it’s unmissable.

We were dazzled by this incredible place nestled in Lisbon. Serving incredible deserts and a massive range of drinks, the interior is incredibly charming. Long and narrow, great use is made of the natural shape of the building to create little booths which feel cosy and intimate for couples. The cakes were incredible - both the chocolate and lemon meringue. Incredibly flavoursome and rich, the crunchy biscuit base then really adds a compliment. The two owners are also adorable. Friendly and fun, with great stories of their own travels, they strike the balance of being perfect hosts and adding to your evening without being intrusive. We loved the herbal tea and the faced coffee, but the whole experience is elevated by the incredible attention to detail in the presentation of the food and drinks. Well worth the trip, and we’ll prioritise revisiting when we’re next in Lisbon
